Put your pink on & celebrate for the cause! For my one year cancerversary, after being diagnosed with breast cancer, we're celebrating by putting on SonnyD's "pARTy in pink!" 1st Cancerversary Benefit Show! This fun event will feature pink creations from 20+ local artists, musical entertainment TBA, dress in pink, pink specialty drinks, raffles, etc, with proceeds benefitting local cancer patients with blankets, beanies, comfort baskets, gift cards & more. Raffle winners will be named at 8:30 pm. Eventhough pink is the theme, due to my specific cancer, the goal is to help local patients of all different types of cancers. My family has personally been struck by numerous different cancers throughout my life, so it seems only fitting to honor that. As many of you may know, I was diagnosed with breast cancer last year & began my journey in May with the first of my three major surgeries in less than four months of 2023. Since that time, I have been on hiatus from organizing local art shows, participating in shows & really even putting out my own art. It has been a long & winding road to get to where I am today. I'm not where I want to be yet, but I am still here & that's certainly something to celebrate. So, with the help of my truly wonderful, talented friends, here I am organizing a show again & painting 3 very special pieces for it.
